    Course Description

    This Data Modeling course is designed to provide a foundation for the practical application of the basic data modeling techniques commonly utilized by Business Analysts. Utilizing a combination of lecture, examples and lab exercises, the students are guided through the philosophy, use and creation of the Context Diagram, Data Flow Diagram and Entity Relationship Diagram.

    This course aligns with the v2.0 BABOK® Guide. This course is endorsed by the IIBA® and offers 13 CDU credits.

    Upon completion of the Data Modeling class, students will be able to:
    • Define the various definitions associated with Data Modeling
    • List the benefits of the various types of models
    • Exhibit the development techniques associated with Context Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams and Entity Relationship Diagrams
    • Create each of the above mentioned diagrams
