    This Business Analysis course is designed to provide key fundamental concepts of Business Analysis. The course provides an initial foundation of knowledge which prepares the student for advanced Business Analysis topics. The course includes discussions of the who, what, how and why of the Business Analyst role and includes such critical skills as: effective Business Analyst communication methods, gathering, documenting, managing and transmitting requirements, the unified process, work products, use cases in a nutshell, UML modeling of use cases, activity diagrams and risk mitigation.

    Those individuals who desire to participate in a software development project as a Business Analyst or wish to begin the first steps towards preparation for the Business Analyst certification should take this training course. This training course is designed to be 50% to 75% exercises and discussions depending on the needs and experience of the class participants, and on the number of class days being taught.

    BACS-105    Business Requirements Workshop Training 
    This Business Requirements course is designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of requirements development concepts. Beginning with an overview of requirement concepts, students gain understanding of requirement levels and types, requirements flow, characteristics of good requirements, writing good requirements and requirements elicitation techniques, including visual modeling.

    In a combined lecture and workshop laden format, students will learn about the various concepts and techniques, as well as how and when to apply them to reduce requirement errors during projects.

    This training course aligns with the v2.0 BABOK® Guide. This training course is endorsed by the IIBA® and offers 26 CDU credits.

    BACS-115    Use Case Workshop Training 
    This Use Case course is designed to provide students with a hands-on introduction to building Use Case documents, Use Case models, and Use Case diagrams. The Use Case Workshop training focuses on creating an initial Use Case model that will evolve and adapt as the workshop progresses. Introductory concepts will be discussed, including an introduction to UML and visual modeling, starting a Use Case model, identifying actors, and then adding associations. The workshop will build on the introduction by providing practical techniques to writing essential and subsequent detailed Use Cases.

    Students will also be invited to come to class prepared to build Use Cases to manage client specific requirements. This will assure that participants will be able to apply training to everyday projects immediately upon returning to work. This portion of the class can be customized based on client needs.

    This Data Modeling course is designed to provide a foundation for the practical application of the basic data modeling techniques commonly utilized by Business Analysts. Utilizing a combination of lecture, examples and lab exercises, the students are guided through the philosophy, use and creation of the Context Diagram, Data Flow Diagram and Entity Relationship Diagram.

    This is an experiential, hands-on course designed to provide key fundamental concepts of Business Process Modeling. This Business Process Modeling course provides an initial foundation of knowledge, which prepares the student for advanced Business Process Modeling topics.

    This Business Process Modeling training includes discussions on the value of modeling systems, the process of building models, Business Process Modeling Business Process Modeling Notation, Context Diagramming, Functional Decomposition with data flow modeling, and model verification and validation. This training course is designed to be 50% to 75% exercises and discussions depending on the needs and experience of the class participants, and on the number of class days being taught.

    BACS-130    Fundamentals of Testing for Business Analysts Training 
    This Testing course introduces the business analysts to the phases of testing and validation in an information systems project. Students will learn the role of the business analysts in the testing process, see how business requirements become the foundation for testing cases and test plans, and learn how to develop and execute effective tests. An overview of project management for testing and quality assurance is also part of this training course. In a combined lecture and workshop format, students will be able to apply these concepts in a series of related exercises that enable them to create and refine the various artifacts of testing.

    This Preparation for the CBAP® Certification Exam course is designed to provide students with preparation for the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®)’s Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) certification. This certification helps Business Analysts get the most out of their experience and demonstrate their expertise within the BA profession. This 3 day course will help you prepare and successfully complete the CBAP® certification.

    By the end of this training course, you will have a thorough understanding of The Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK®) Knowledge Areas that defines the responsibilities and skills of a Business Analyst. It explains some of the industry's best practices associated with analysis and provides the knowledge to apply the basic framework for analyzing business problems as outlined by the BABOK® 2.0. Students will be required to complete homework assignments and simulated exams to enable active participation throughout this training course.

    This Business Requirements course is designed to provide students with an introduction to requirements management and requirements development concepts. Beginning with an overview of project phases and software development lifecycle, the student is taken through the essential process of requirements management such as requirements documentation, change management, requirements traceability and the role of the BA in the process. In the requirements development process, students gain understanding of requirement levels and types, requirements flow, characteristics of good requirements, writing good requirements and requirements elicitation techniques.

    In a combined lecture and workshop format, students will learn about the concepts and techniques, and apply them through creating the relevant artifacts, learning how to customize the approach and artifacts to fit their organization’s needs.

    This training course is designed to leverage IBM Rational Requirements Composer in the creation of the requirements management artifacts. You will gain experience in utilizing Requirements Composer for creating, validating and collaborating in the creation and management of requirements and associated artifacts.
