Virtual Testing & Support Links

If you will be attending training in either a LearnQuest facility or your company's training room, go no further! You can disregard the pre-class testing procedures below.

If, on the other hand, you will attend training from any other location, please continue.

Background Information

  1. Virtual training uses "Webinar" so the students and instructor can talk to one another and also so the students can view the instructor's presentation.

  2. Virtual training also uses "Webex" for hands-on workshops and exercises.

  3. You must test both Webinar and Webex before the first day of class as detailed below.

Important Considerations

  1. When you use Internet Explorer for Virtual Training, you will be asked to install ActiveX controls. Please make certain your Windows login has the ability to install an ActiveX control on the computer you will use for training.

  2. You will need a fast Internet connection, a microphone and speakers when connecting to audio using VoIP . (A USB headset is recommended. LearnQuest can provide an analog headset at a minimal cost.)

If you cannot connect to VOIP using a microphone and speakers, a toll phone number (NOT TOLL FREE) is provided as an alternative

  3. Webinar may not operate correctly through a VPN connection or on a machine on which VPN is turned on. If you are using VPN, turn it off before connecting.

Software/Hardware Requirements

  • For PC-based participants:
    • Windows® 7, Vista, XP or 2003 Server
    • Internet Explorer® 7.0 or newer, Mozilla® Firefox® 3.0 or newer or Google™ Chrome™ 5.0 or newer (JavaScript™ , Java™, ActiveX, and cookies enabled)
    • Minimum of Pentium® class 1GHz CPU with 512 MB of RAM (recommended) (2 GB of RAM for Windows® Vista)
    • Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection

Pre Class Testing

You need to test your computer connectivity and audio at least 2 days prior to the class start date. Testing can be done Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

You must test the machine you will be using for the class from the location where you will be taking the class.

In other words, if you will be taking the class from home, the test should be done from home. If you will be taking the class at your workstation, the test needs to be done at your workstation.
